Ducks with leg problems!

I am having this problem too. Her toes were turned inwards and she walks on her elbows. She squeaks when she walks, so it must be painful for her to walk. We pretty much flattened her foot with a "shoe", so now she spreads her foot out. I thought that once we fixed her foot that she would start walking on it. But nope, she walks on her elbow. I don't know how to fix it! I've posted this question before, but I still don't know how to help her. She gets swim time every day for as long as she wants to. She is getting 18% grower feed for chickens, and vitamin/electrolyte water that has a lot of niacin. I don't know how much it has exactly, but I remember it was more than what she was getting before. She also gets peas, and we are going to start giving her tuna and scrambled eggs, someone suggested I start doing that in an earlier post. But, we did see her twice today, it seemed like she was trying to use her foot a little! The first time, she stepped on her foot, but didn't spread her toes out. The second time, she stepped on her foot, and she spread her toes out! But then she fell over, probably because of not being used to using her foot. Poor baby. Any suggestions please!!!! I have been searching everywhere to see if there is a way to make a splint so she will stand up straight but I can't find anything, I only get results for chickens. If she doesn't show improvement we are going to take her to the vet so she can get examined. I am praying for her everyday, she is more than just some duck without a name that we have in our backyard, she really is part of our family. I will do anything to help her.

I can only rec a vet now if you can take her, she needs to have an Xray to find out what is causing this before she permanently injures her legs to where she'll never be able to walk. Just tell them what you are willing to have done and Xrays should show what is causing the problem. I don't know if she is getting enough niacin maybe supplement with some Nutritional /Brewers yeast on her food for a while.

We are on a trip right now but we are coming back tomorrow, we should be back in the afternoon. If she hasn't shown any improvement we will schedule an appointment. I know she may never be a normal duck, but as long as she can live without pain and she is happy, she will be ok, and I would give her a great and loving life,

I am giving the niacin & nutri-drench time to work, but then I'll start to pick my vet's brain about it. They can swim fine, so if I can get them to live in the pond safely I think they'll be happy & more comfortable! Just have to figure out if they'll be safer from a hawk attack when they get bigger. We even had a floating dog & house ready when we got them. But I don't want them to be bait so they're in my chicken yard for now.

They will always be vulnerable to preds flying and 4 legged it's always the chance we take when we let them free range or live on a pond. They would be very vulnerable to preds sleeping in that igloo no door for protection anything could walk up there an surprise attack or swim out to get them.
