Ducks with special Needs

Pics
Hi, all! While I was out "patrolling" the property today (the ducks had alerted to a hawk in a tree nearby), Elliott started following me. He has nibbled my boots a little in the past, but I didn't really think anything of it. Today, he was actually chasing me, running along behind me.  When I stopped, he nibbled my pants and boots, and wrapped his neck around my leg. I hate to say it, but I think he thinks I'm a duck! He's acting frisky and the girls are too fast for him (that I've seen).

I picked him up and carried him around while I was checking the treeline, and when I put him down, he seemed to have lost interest in my boots. Poor guy...I just hope he doesn't become a stalker...

that is funny and cute. I use to have a blue front amazon parrot (female) and she loved me so much and she tought i was her mate. i tried to ignore her when she wanted my "special" attention. it was cute buy not right.
Im glad the hawk didn't do any damage w/your ducks.

Hi, you were here in Idaho, what town? We meet people from SD, all the time. my dh grew up in SD.
Idaho is beautiful that is one of the many reasons we moved here. Montana is beautiful too.
how are your ducks doing?
All the ducks are doing good we have been preparing to move dandelion in the house with us.......but we always make sure to get her out in the mud and pool with the other ducks under our watchful eye........it is like spring time here in Ga, we are looking forward to the rain..........How are your ducks doing?

Thanks, @CyndiD ! I've been on high alert since this is the worst time of year (based on last year's experience) around here for hawks. While I don't know that they're "guardian" animals, I don't think the hawks like all the Muscovies converging on them - the drakes are pretty big and I don't think a hawk would be inclined to tangle with one.

LOL...I really hope Elliott finds a girlfriend in the group, too. He's persistent, I'll give him that. Parrots are amazing creatures - do you still keep them?

We must be getting some of your rain here in KY...it's been so soggy and muddy. No one except the ducks are enjoying it!

Hi, my ducks were all together in the duck house for 2-3 months, I have 18 ducks and 5 drakes. but about 2-3 weeks ago i notice 2 ducks were being picked on by 2 drakes; so, i put the drakes back in the horse trailer converted into a duck house. so the drakes are not happy being seperated.
most of my ducks and drakes have bumble foot, from moderate to severe. So i have been treating them for this for weeks now. they are getting better. i want them to be rid of this before i let them out again and before all our snow melts.
Ali needs a good swim, and i need to clean her feathers up again. she doesnt preen herself well, she cant reach all her feathers.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.... tee hee

No, unfortunately, i do not have parrots any longer. this blue front amazon that i had i taught her to sing "God Bless America" I was so cool. I left her w/my boyfriend, when we broke up cuz i couldnt have her where i moved. I really miss her. my friend use to have aparakeet that could say a few words, that was cool.
They are amazing, i would love to have my blue front back, but she has passed away, so sad.
well, I have ducks, chickens, horses, rabbits, dogs and a snake now.... wow, huh?

Your parrot sounds like she was a very special and talented bird and that you spent quality time with her. Sorry to hear that she's passed, but I like to think that she'll be at the "rainbow bridge" to meet you someday, like all my animals who have passed over the years.
