Sure, take him in if you can. However, keep in mind that you risk your girl every time you take her to the park to swim. If she bonds to the other duck, and she probably will, because he is of her kind and they bond easily with each other, she will swim off. Then there is the risk of her getting eaten by turtles - they will go after the whole duck. So... see if you can rescue him, but keep them home in some sort of secure area with a good fence and their own wading pool to play in. There is also risk of disease or parasites at the park that is much higher than keeping her home and not just from him, but from wild birds that pass by. We had a lot of starlings drop by last winter when it was very cold and they left me bird mites to deal with this spring. I do hope you can encourage him to be your pet.
