Ducolax

I read in one of the articles about sour crop that ducolax can help with in impacted crop, I have a chicken who has lost wait and strength with a bout of sour crop.
My question is, she's headed in the right direction now but struggled to poop. Will ducolax help? I probed her vent and didn't feel any backup. It might just be weakness?
Here is a great article about crop disorders: https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/

I never heard of using ducolax, but I have heard of putting a little molasses in their water is a laxative. I wouldn't do either yet. I would get her on probiotics, like try some sugar-free yogurt, Greek being the best of them. There's also various products you can put in their water, such as Hydro Hen. Probiotics can help digestive issues.

If she's not eating, try wet her crumbles or pellets and make a mash. Scrambled eggs or a can of tuna in water is also something they'll usually eat and is good for them.

Colace or doccusate sodium stool softener is what you need. Dulcolax is a brand name. One of their products is a laxative (bisacodyl) and the other is a stool softener (doccusate sodium) so be sure to use the stool softener.

Stool Softener Docusate sodium (Ducolax name brand, stimulant free) is mentioned as treatment in both articles as part of treatment for impacted crops.

The stool softener may help her to poop, but may not. If she still struggles, introduce some coconut oil or mineral oil, see if that helps.

I've used stool softener to help break up material in a crop and it has worked well for me.

Do see that she's drinking well and eating. Her normal feed is fine or you can offer it as a wet mash.

Thanks everyone for replies, I have done most of everything recommended, other than the ducolax or molasses.
