Dud Chickens, 2017 style

I agree, they don't look ready to lay, in which case I wouldn't worry too much, they unfortunately are just being slow to mature. Factory farm birds are bred to mature quickly and produce a lot in a short time, this is not normally the type of birds we keep in backyard flocks. Having birds on a more natural cycle we have healthier birds that will likely lay for more of their lives. If your birds looked more mature I'd be more worried about health problems, but after seeing pics I'd say they just aren't ready yet. And a personal update, of my 5 pullets hatched between Feb. 15 and March 1, I still only have one layer.
