Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Not sure if this story should make me laugh or cry. It's sad that any teenager today would be so ignorant/racist. I've always though it strange that people would think a drop of blood way back when makes you something. It's pretty funny though that Jim used it against her to get her to keep her dogs locked up.

Whatever works.

What I don't get is those who are married to "my soul mate", then, when the spouse dies, they're dating and looking for their next spouse within 6 months. I understand waiting a couple of years before venturing out again, but one guy I know was "madly in love" with wife #3, when she suddenly died. At the funeral, a woman he hardly knew latched on to him. Two years later, they were married. Apparently, he has a short memory.
Guess it can depend on their age….a lady I know had been married 5 times. Last marriage did last over 25 years. When she widowed and moved into a retirement complex, she met and married within a few months --she was in her 80's and he was 90. He passed less than a year later and she moved into an assisted care facility. The week she moved in she proposed to an elderly fellow with dementia and they got married the next week. They both have passed of old age now, but I really wondered if the old fellow really knew what it was all about.

This guy was in his late 40's when his "beloved" wife died, so senility didn't play a part in the remarriage. Talk about bringing a date to your wife's funeral!!!

As for the old couple you mention, I hope the old geezer got to find out "what it was all about" before he died. Hate to think he missed out on all the fun.

A few days later I caught 2 of her dogs mauling one of my chickens. Well i had just lost 5 to what i thought was coons so I was very upset. And raised quite a fuss. Well when the fuss was over it turned out that I'm the only one within 2 miles that still has any chickens left. We believe g-granddaughters dogs got the rest including Franks dozen hens. The dogs were supposed to be kept in a kennel, they are city dogs. But nothing anyone could say would keep her from letting the dogs out to run because it was "mean" to keep them locked up.

Jim volunteered to be the one to tell them about the dogs being caught in the act. When he did he told g-granddaughter that he wanted to embrace his Indian side and had always wondered how dog tastes. Now we have no idea if Indians used to eat dog or not... and I don't want to know. But Jim seems to have her number, there are padlocks on the dog kennels now.
The whole thing about neighborhood dogs killing chickens is so very disturbing. Even more so, the mentality about it being "mean" to keep them locked up. I've had more than one conversation with the local ACO about dogs on my property being predators, and dealt with accordingly, of course depending on the situation and, if possible with prior warning. Last dog issue: 2 dogs harassing chickens, had to be driven off by hubby and myself. They returned several weeks later, and actually wandered into my house. I shut the door, and kept the muddy, wet dogs in my house until ACO came and picked them up. I want to free range my chickens, but unfortunately, dogs are my most frequent predator.

A friend of mine got severely injured by her neighbors dog. He caught her leg and pulled it through the gate between the property. She was able to rescue a kitten from the dog, but ended up with deep bites, gashes and infection in the leg. She is still trying legally to get the owner to pay her medical bills for the incident. The owner was at home, heard her yelling, and didn't even bother to contain the dog or call an ambulance. She now has to garden in her yard with a pistol by her side just in case the dog jumps the fence. And her neighbor has young grandchildren who visit..hope the dog never hurts them.

Sadly, I knew a man who within six months of his wife's death from breast cancer was married to her sister. I would have hated to be one of his two daughters (ages 6 and 11) since they had to still be mourning their mother even then, much less when their aunt became their dad's significant.

I disagree, that would be a dairy serving and would add some nutrition.
