While watching an episode of Chopped they had black chickens in their baskets could they have been silkies they did mention something about China.

yup, the Chinese bred silkies because the black skin, bones and meat supposedly had mystical properties.

just for fun, I looked up chickens on yahoo answers so that I would have so stuff to post on here. Some on asked "how do you clone chickens to be hatched with out beaks or talons?" that also asked if it was ok to feed chicken to their chickens. everyone who commented were like "NO! that's so evil!!!!" kind of my reaction too.

I must admit that I fed last year's Thanksgiving turkey carcass to my chickens.......then somewhere here I heard that feeding them meat in general was not good. I'm confused, because bugs are meat, right? I mean, they are not a vegetable, but neither are they previously cooked....
I also had read (somewhere) a comment that feeding them chicken could turn them into cannibals?
The thing that makes me laugh about that is that my Granny had told me many years ago that on my father's side, I am descended from someone that was part of the Donner Party

My DH tells some of his friends about that, then they become very wary of me....

so i am sitting in class next to my firend who is dumber than a post.

My son and his family about 8 months ago went vegan. He was telling me that he read somewhere (while researching why meat and animal products are not good for us

) this very same thing that an egg is the result of the chickens period. REALLY? I have not looked it up but he is the one that led me to see how the eggs are produced for the stores and for that I am grateful will not buy nor eat them again.

This is what is confusing I learned by all the reading here that they eat any meat that is cooked. Then I was told/read that meat will make them aggressive. So my girls eat grubs, those black roaches everyone calls water bugs, lizards and the occasional sparrow they manage to catch.... is this not all meat and as you said not cooked.
