Jeeze, I have a two year old with better manners than teens (and some adults) these days. He says please and thank you, he even shares his toys! Lol I always thought that was just average behavior but apparently it's a super power now days lol

a lady asked "why hatch when you can buy baby chicks?" I said "then why have a garden, you can buy veggies from the store? Why cook? you can go to mc donalds." I hatch because I can. and so far it is my legal right.
I am youn
. I am from younger generation and have kids but I agree with you. what I am noticing and it drives me crazy is that parents want to be friends with their kids first then adults! it doesn't work that way. kids should behave and be quiet when told. not throw themselves on a ground at the first sign of someone telling them NO. even more so because this breeds also fear in teachers of disciplining the kid. it used to be if you get in trouble at school god help you when parents find out. now everyone I hear from goes different way "can't be my little angel". YES your little angel has little horns growing discipline them and support teachers on it as well. ps I am not a. teacher![]()
. ha ha ha ha I tell my kids how to write proper all the time apparently I am a bad mother for hurting their feelings too!A young mother of 3, very soon to be 4, with no husband in sight, recently told me, "I want to be the FUN mom"! Really? What happened to "I want to raise my children to be well adjusted, responsible, self-sufficient, contributing members of society"? It's all about what feels good to *me* these days, not about what's in the kids' best interest.
I was evaluating one little boy, about 8 years old, who is being home schooled but his mom was worried about a learning disability. One of the complaints was that he hated to write, and it was difficult to get him to put anything on paper. While I was working with him, I noticed that he had a really strange pencil grip; held it awkwardly between his middle and ring finger.
So, I asked, "Where did you learn to hold a pencil?"
Him: No where.
Me: Did someone teach you to hold it that way?
Him: No. I just did.
Me: Well, if you learned to hold it differently your hand might not hurt when you write.
The next day, my boss told me she got a nasty phone call from said child's mother, complaining (ranting, really) that I had told her son he was holding his pencil wrong. Apparently, I hurt the little sh*t's feelings.![]()
. I agree with you about the left hand vs right hand. I have some lefties in my family. however when it comes to the reality of the kids schooling, teachers should tell kids how kids should behave, how to hold a pen and how to respect adults. there is nothing wrong with that.I am so glad I don't have to mess with the school systems anymore. When my oldest (who is now 33) was in first grade....he had the teacher that felt it was her god given duty to force him to write with his Right hand, versus his Left hand. This was back in 86', down in Mississippi. I thought that went out with the 70's.
Don't even get me started on pet shops/feed stores and dead animals! Especially fish!! GRRI was in a feed store and they were having Chick Days. The general public wasn't allowed to handle, touch or really get near the chicks. I looked in the bin and there was one very dead chick...honestly, when you've had one you know there's nothing sadder nor flatter. I told the clerk who glanced over and tried to assure me that "Oh, no. That one is just resting and sleeping heavily." (So not true)
