Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

I've been reading about Americans and lamb, and I'm shocked! You guys need to try it. Seriously it's the best meat going. Apart from the girl on here who is vegetarian who comments on things a lot, I don't remember your name :)

But other than that go eat some lamb, lamb shank slow cooked in minted gravy, that is like my favourite food.

Lamb is expensive here in the States. I raise and eat my own goats. Love it! We haven't bought meat from the grocery in about a year.

I'd eat more lamb if it wasn't so expensive. I need to get my fencing done and a shelter set up before June so I can get a starter herd of Jacob sheep. I love the look of them. I actually like goat best I and that's almost impossible to find.
Jacob sheep are gorgeous. I hear they taste nice too. I love rare breed meat

I don't have a lot of personal experience eating lamb. Amazing considering I grew up 15 minutes from the town where the annual World Sheep Fest was held every Labor Day weekend. Of course, if I wanted to stay in my Mother In Law's good graces, I will never eat another sheep burger (she is sheep crazy like I'm horse crazy).

I saw a recipe by Julia Child in Parade magazine years ago for leg of lamb. You butterfly the leg of lamb and marinate it for several hours in a mixture of lemon juice, oil, and garlic before roasting it. It was delicious. Even my brother who didn't care much for lamb liked it.

I heard a Beef related funny comment today. National Public Radio had a Segment about foreign workers in Meat Processing plants. The Reporter said "...While her Parents are working, turning Animals into Beef..."

PFFFTTT I visited an abattoir today and it was really interesting, and I am in the UK and ALL of the workers are Polish. Interesting that this matches up with this report, but I must say they were all professional and I definitely did not have the impression that they did not care about the animals going through the unit. There were pigs in holding pens waiting for slaughter but they were all very relaxed in straw beds, a nice place for them to die in my opinion. A friend of ours who breeds cattle for beef took me along to pick up a carcass.

I was talking to my friends mom about how I'm going to get chickens and eat their eggs, and when I asked her if she would want some, she said:
"Eww, aren't their eggs dirty and covered in blood spots? I heard that farm raised chickens have blood spots on their eggs. I don't care if they are healthier, I'll buy the clean ones from the store."
Unbelievable. People would take a hormone enhanced, chemical filled, 5 month old store egg, over a healthy, natural, egg, just because of a little bit of poop and the occasional blood spot. I don't understand people these days.:/

Such ignorance. People don't care to know what hurts or helps their health.. let them be stupid haha. As soon as I found out I was pregnant with my son in 2011, it was like second nature to start questioning EVERYTHING about food.. !

Some people just don't care.

I used to get plenty of blood spots in store bought eggs. Mom always just picked it out and use the egg.
