I had a CL post advertising a pair of leghorns for sale, specifically stating a pullet and a cockerel. They wanted to know how many hens. I reiterated that I had a pair, one pullet and one cockerel. They didn't answer. Maybe they didn't bother to read the ad.

When I don't know what someone is saying. I Google it for this specific reason. We aren't all experts in everything. Just gotta know when you're out of your league......

OK, this isn't something funny someone said to me but it just seems to fit in this thread because I am sure my flock thinks this dumb hen I have is the stupidest bird they have ever seen

She is just over a year old and has never set eggs. She has decided that she has chicks .

She clucks to her imaginary chicks, brings treats to them, and puffs up while squawking if any of the other birds go near them. Problem is........ there are NO chicks!!!

My English Orp did this last year. It was hilarious. She sat for over a month and crushed her babies in the shell. One hatched and she didn't protect it and it died. So she sat on air for a few more weeks - I decided no more babies for her. Then all of a sudden, she was up and clucking to her invisible chicks.

How about the dumb things people say when they find out you have, or are getting chickens?! For example, one of my faves.."chicken poop STINKS!"
Ummm..I haven't met a poop yet that doesn't STINK!! People don't say that crap when you're getting a puppy! I mean c'mon people
