Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

grade A eggs don't, that's mostly what you find at the store. Mostly the ones with blood or meat spots are used for liquid egg products.
Sorry that you misunderstood , I was being sarcastic….commercial eggs can have blood spots. There's no way to tell unless you crack the egg.

Grade A eggs are based on size of eggs.

Every so often one of our hens will lay an egg with a blood spot in it...just a tiny one about the size of a pencil dot. If you want to see more about it, check out this article. The one pictured is much larger than what we've ever seen.
Oh, and we don't have an alley for a garbage truck to drive down, so I'm pretty sure that's never caused a blood spot for us, lol.

I've actually seen more blood spots in store bought eggs than the ones from our own chickens. Out of hundreds of eggs this last year I saw maybe two with blood spots and I know I've seen more "weirdness" (if you want to call it that) from store bought eggs.

But I still know I have seen tiny blood spots in Grade A commercial eggs..guess too small for the canceling to see?

Thanks for the info.

I've seen them in the Grade A store eggs too. Never thought it was a big deal as they (both the store bought and our eggs) are so small.

I cook 'em and eat 'em that way...you wouldn't remove blood from a good steak, why remove a tiny dot from a good egg? Blood's good eatin'.
