I can't eat some of the eggs my bantams lay. Because they are just too cute! I mean look at this one:https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/690080/look-at-this-itty-bitty-egg-so-cute

I mean, I don't actually think I could have eaten that, but I wouldn't if I could anyways!

Aha!! That has happened to me a couple times recently. I found a tiny egg laying to itself and found myself just utterly stumped as to how it got in my chicken coop. I finally decided it MUST belong to another bird. But I kept it and kept it out even and it hasn't gone bad. Then this past week I found another tiny egg laying in the hens' nest area. I have been accusing my boyfriend of playing tricks on me with these tiny eggs. They're the real deal though!!!! Wow!!! The only thing is that I believe my tiny eggs MUST belong to one of my young easter eggers, because my cochins aren't old enough to lay.

They COULD be being laid by an older hen that is having some sort of mishap in her egg machine. I think they're as cute as can be but I prefer not to find them... for that reason. Not sure what the problem is and have no idea what to do about it.

I'm sure its possible that if a bantam laid a really small egg it may have a yolk in it but when the come from a large bird? Sometimes, too, when they first start laying again after a molt I may get a tiny egg like that but usually only one. I'm thankful that their systems get up and running properly in short order!

I'm drying it now. I figured there would be no yolk, but I didn't want to crack it anyways. I'm drying it right now. Is there something special that I need to do though?

Ummm...Don't all eggs have a yolk?.. why would'nt a small one? And, yes, they are too cute !
