My Purina dealer here also only sells nonmedicated, if I want medicated I have to go to out Southern States dealer.

I bought my chicks from Tractor Supply as well and the same food. You do not need to add anything extra to it. The only problem I ran into was that my chicks started getting blood in their poo after about a week of feeding them the Dumor. I posted messages here, contacted 3 vets in my area, then contacted the USDA office. The USDA told me it sounded like they had cocci which needed to be treated. I went to Southern States Coop and they told me to buy a medicated starter feed, that prevents and treats that problem/illness. Tractor supply does not sell this, so they don't recommend it! It will also kill ducklings if you feed it to them, verses the Dumor works for both chicks and ducks. I bought the medicated feed and they have been fine since. Just watch your chicks and if it looks like their poo might have some blood in it, I would try to get some medicated feed for them.
