duramycin for my gander?

    Update: I thought for 4 days my gander had a missing eye to my amazement today i looked and his eye has lids :D its half open i guess i was seeing the pink skin of his swollen eye lid not the eye socket,hes eating,has a bit of a swollen spot on his head, makes a weird clicking noise not sure what that is.i got him some duramycin how much should i give him in his water and for how long?

    Was it an injury or an infection? If it was an injury I would just treat the eye area and not use the duramycin. Limit his water access to a 5 gallon bucket with a couple tablespoons of Oxine in it for a couple days and see if it starts improving.

    If it looks like an infection, I would try the mildest dose recommended for poultry for 3 days, limiting the water of course, to only a 2 gallon bucket with the meds, and watch for improvement.

    Glad to hear he still has his eye!
