I am so brand new to baby chicks and I keep reading about dust/dirt baths. Do I need to provide in their brooder a dust bath area? My chicks are almost 2 weeks old now. Can I just put some sand in a small bowl? Thanks!

They will "dust" in the wood chips or what ever you have for bedding but it's not something they need to do so you don't need to put sand or anything e4lse in the brooder since they are just going to poop in it anyway.

You will experience the dust bath (and trust me it is an experience!) when your chicks start going outside. At various times people have seen our ladies dusting and thought that they were 1. dying 2. having seizures 3. having a chicken orgy...
