Dust bathing?

I actually had a load of sand/fill delivered to use in my run - better drainage and hopefully easier to clean. From what I've seen though, the chicks are more than happy to dust bathe in anything they can climb into and fluff up over their backs - sand, aspen shavings, chick kibble, grass clippings - they seem to like the sand the most, but I don't think they're very picky creatures.

Yes. Too cute. I had put a little plate of crumble in when they were first put in the brooder at one day old. The one little guy was dust bathing in it within a couple of days! She's still doing it in the pine chips. lol. They are scratching in it like crazy trying to find good things to eat but alas. They are now two weeks old exactly. I will post a pic. I have tried feeding mealy worms for a treat. Most of them don't get it but a few courageous ones have grabbed it right away now they won't let the others have a chance. I have 11. I did put a bit of bird gravel in their feeder. Hopefully this is OK for those who have ate the mealy worms.
