We have this big show where an actual Judge is visiting people with a problem.
I'm so confused.

This time it was about an upper neighbour that complained of the noise of the Indian runner ducks of the downstairs neighbour.
They live in a two story building where only the ground-floor one has a small garden. She has a balcony. Behind that small garden is his shed, behind that shed her shed, reachable from going around the block.

It started wrong for me when the mother started to talk about her complaint. She is a young single mother with a 6-year old daughter. The daughter said screaming 'It is like a zoo in heeeere!!!'. (strange, children like zoo's, are you copying your mother?).
Then the mother proceeded to tell her daughter couldn't sleep because of the ducks because she would allways wake up cranky and was cranky a lot during the day and said stuff to her daugher like 'You hate the ducky's don't you?' "They keep you up at night don't they?' "the ducks make you behave badly don't they?' 'You want the duck to go don't you?' =/
Yeah bye madam.
You have a hard time, so young and alone, to raise your child. I can see it by the way you are manipulating her. YOU make her cranky. You have a too heavy task, raising a kid alone, that is no shame. But; You are trying to shove it to the ducks now. Ducks tend to sleep at night, and children tend to adapt quick to noises often heard and sleep through it. And; she specified that the ducks make noise the WHOLE night non-stop. Yeah bye.

Then you saw the ducks. The owner didn't want to cooperate in the show. He also had fancy pidgeons. The pidgeons looked fine and healthy. The Indian runner ducks had a big pool, like a really good pool, but too little room for the rest, and way too many males per female. I counted 5 males and 1 female, 2 where full white and don't know what they are.

She then started a story that he is never home and doesn't take care for his animals. He has a girlfriend and is only home once a 2 months (The pidgeons looked really healthy.. and the ducks a bit dirty but not shockingly mall-nurished or anything, so lie). He got them for the circus of his brother she said. (? Where did you get this information?). And she is afraid to go in to her shed because the ducks attracts rats, she even filmed one. She showed the film, my jaw dropped..

It was a tame, healthy, male rat... TAME. I bred tame rats for years.
A. Accidentally at that occasion a tame male rat escaped, recently, since he looked too clean and too healthy. She only could film him because he was too fat to be fast, like a tame male rat. That and his colours. And his 0 fear of the outside world and knowledge he is a prey-animal.
B. This programme is rigged. It is staged. Which would be awfull, since it hold high regards in the Dutch society and a LOT of people watch it.
C. She asked a friend with a tame rat to bring it to film, to make 'proof'. I bet on this.

The judge conclusion; 'Circus animals (?) have no place in a neighbourhood, and they need to go'. :O

I have my ducks in a neighbourhood too, so I better not hope neighbours get some ideas now..but really? 'They have to go because it is not a good situation for the ducks, a lot of males have to go/only a few males are allowed to be left"; okay.. that was fine and logical...but 'circus-animals' from hear-say? Not in any neighbourhood at all? =/

That rat thing.

Baffeled.
100 euro's that that woman will find something else to complain about again 'because her daughter is acting out'.

End rant/vent. Thanks for listening.

How can they even hear the male ducks quacking?

Poor kid, manipulative parent! :rant

Most shows are staged... I once went on a talk show... and they held up que cards to ag us on. They gotta do something to get people to watch. Now you know how ridiculous THAT show is. :hmm

Ha, I thought the same.. she should be glad a lot of those 8 ducks were male hahaha!

We know that from American shows. That air a lot here. Television is quite different in the US then over here. They discovered it faster. How to 'fake' shows. We had Oprah in my childhood, okay. When I was 12 we got Jerry Springer. And we were like 'mmm..so,so...' We didn't believe it was real life. Too many chair-throwing and midgets. It was TOO much. We did trust Dr. Phil though.
We started with some formats that where sold to other countries. Even the US. We also bought some formats from the US.
Soon it was discovered, that especially on dating shows over here, they used actors. We are a small country so it kinda comes quite clear soon when 'the bachalor' also stars as a single in another dating show, a make-over show because he suddenly is a person that dresses too trashy.. we have like 2 bureaus where people sign in to be in TV-shows, few fame-seekers do...so yeah. At the same time there was this USA 'catfish' scandal... Which used the same formula. Actors.
Now 'got talent' 'Next superstar" "idols" and whatever show has people in it that are already famous in another country.. (Glennis Grace)..
It's fakery all over..
But is still kinda sucks, when it has come so far, that an esteamed programme has to go so far.. I REALLY hope that mother faked the rat.. set it in scene.. if a respected judge on TV goes this far (we are not in the phase yet of television judges), that is kind of the end.

Imho almost all TV-shows are rigged, especially those »reality TV shows«. I'm not watching this bullsh*t at all! We are thinking about cancelling our satellite TV entirely as we watch less and less of it, a one hour »show« contains 40 minutes of commercials! 'nuff!
We don't pay for TV and can't get free stations via old school antenna here in the boonies. We reverted to buying only movies we like and repeat as needed. :p

More time for chicken tv... and um math! :woot

With that many ducks, people are careless feeders.. if that rat wasn't real there are probably others... in MY experience. :sick

Tried that old-school antenna first, but here at our house we have no TV, no cell-phone coverage and barely 2 radio stations. I got a free trial with Amazon-Prime and we like to watch all those TV-shows from the 70's and 80's that we either missed or weren't allowed to watch. ;) You're right: More time to watch the ducks!
