Dying chicks! Please please help!

Please keep everyone posted on their progress...I hope the welsummer pulls through...it sounds like you are doing exactly what the experienced are telling you to do...I admire your concern and energy to do whatever you can! Keeping fingers crossed for you...
Thank so much! They’re my babies!!! Yea, they’re all up and eating and I’m just going to continue giving our welsummer the corid water with the syringe until she starts drinking on her own!

yesterday we were gone for a free hours and came back to a chick passed away. She seemed totally fine before we left. Energetic, no signs of anything out of the norm!

We thought maybe just bad luck but now we just lost another this morning and the others seem to be declining. What is going on?!?!

They’re about 3 weeks old and have been fine. Poops seem fine. They were eating fine. They’re warm enough! It’s not our first go with chicks but def first time experiencing this!! How can I save the rest?!?!?!
Check their crops, and eyes. I have read the crop should be down on the right side I’ve felt it in my chicks after eating in that spot! Take feed away and check crop periodically after 5-8 hrs if it hasn’t emptied it could be sour crop in impacted. If their eyes are hazy, cloudy, foggy, or getting over their pupil...mercks disease!!!??? I have read for over two years about chicken illnesses and finally started my backyard flock this year and I’m still quite nervous! Good luck to you!

Yes their eyes were gray-like when doing very bad or right before the one passed away (didn’t actually see the first pass). The ones that made it seem to be doing much better. I’m so so relieved! It’s so hard to loose an animal!

Let us know how they are doing.
So far no more casualties and our one that was in bad shape seems to be doing much better. She has gained MUCH more strength back! We’re still syringing corid water to her but it’s getting harder as she’s getting stronger (yay) but she’s eating on her own. The others are eating and drinking and much more active now!

This sounds promising! I'm hoping for a full recovery :fl

Just an update! We still haven’t lost anymore thank God!!!!! It’s been really touch and go and we’ve just been babying and hydrating with the corid water in a syringe for the weaker ones who weren’t drinking on their own!

It seems I’ve had to take turns with each one babying them back but as of this morning they’re the best I’ve seen and all eating and drinking on their own!

I thought for sure I was going to loose 2 yesterday but as a last ditch effort I gave them an extra drop of corid, coconut oil and the corid mix I have in a syringe and they started eating then drinking almost right away!!!

Hopefully we’re almost out of the dark woods!!! Thanks again for everyone’s help!!!! So so much thanks!!!!!
