Dying plants

Hi, I was buying some plants for my new herb garden in Walmart and I saw a bunch of dying/dead plants being thrown out. I hated the thought of that so I asked the manager if I could have them and she said yes. So, now I have 18 very sad looking plants and I don’t have a clue what to do to help them. I should mention this is my first time ever trying to have a garden. I’m starting out with herbs and vegetables and I bought 2 planters that stand up and have a watering system. I also bought healthy herb and tomato plants and some pees and carrot seeds. I’m going to post some pictures of the plants, planters and dirt that I bought if y’all don’t mind giving me advice on how A) how to get started, B) if it’s worth it trying to save the plants and if so what I should do to help them, C) did I buy the correct dirt/supplies and D) any other advice?!

Water them twice a day and put them in part shade part sun. Use herb and vegetable soil. Weed your garden at least once a week.

I give my plants cooled veggie water if I boiled say broccoli.

Just water the wilted plants and if they recover, they recover. Most of them look pretty dead though.

Otherwise my approach to gardening is pretty simple. Put in dirt, put plants in dirt, remember to water but don't overwater, and then wait.

Water them. 9 times out of 10 retail garden center employees (i used to be one years ago) do not water the live goods properly. It was an issue that I could never get my colleagues to understand.

I would guess 75% of my landscaping was purchased from the discount rack or gotten for free. Most often perennials may be set back in a years growth but will catch up next season. Herbs can be particularly robust. So long as there is some green on them, they should come back.
