Early February 2016 Hatch - Who's In?

Yay just woke up to one little chick hatched, and three more unzipping!! They all started last night, today is day 22. The kids are so excited, glad they got to see it before they went to school!!!

So I'm in day 22 and will be in day 23 this afternoon. No more movement overnight... should I candle them to see if there is any movement? No pips either and no noise. 

I think that is a personal choice. Saying that, I'm on day 23 and this afternoon I'm candling my two remaining eggs. You are not alone in wanting to see what's going on.

Happy hatching everyone!!! Love seeing these beautiful little chicks. Day 21 here and I woke up to no pips, wah . Hoping they are to come. Headed to the post office now to pick up the chicks I ordered after only 3/9 of mine were viable hahaha. I'll post pics of those and hopefully my pips!

I woke up this morning way too early in order to check on the chicks. Pleasantly surprised to see four in there now! Two more eggs left but I don't think I see any pips on them. When I move the four chicks over to the brooder this afternoon, I'll take pics, and candle the other two to see what's going on.

Be careful.

last year I had the same thing happen so I took the 2 eggs and placed them under a lamp and sprinkled water over them just goofing off trying to show my kids what an egg left to long would do....
They hatched. Perfectly fine little chicks 2 days later. All I could figure was they must of been put in by my husband without telling me.

None of mine pipped until the evening of the 21st day, which was yesterday then one hatched early this morning and three are unzipping right now!

I am just floored. For those of you that are waiting still - I am thinking of you and just know that "odd egg" never showed any signs of rocking, chirping or even pipping!

This time I let them sit for 24 hours before putting them in. Next time I will let them sit out for 24 hours, and then maybe put in the bator and not turn for another day or so. What did you do for your current batch?
