Early February 2016 Hatch - Who's In?

:weee
I candled tonight but it was time for one set to be candled. I set 6 of my mixed eggs on the 12th so it's day 15 for this set. I wanted to weigh each to make sure I was in on track. After scratching my head on the algorithm I figured it out and it looks like I am on track for weight loss. All the air cells looked good and 6/6 were viable. Lots of movement and darkness. Thank goodness for my Brinsea. I have been keeping my humidity at 30%-35%. I have it set for 40% but it seems to struggle to get that high. I'm hatching these 6 out in my Yoosoo (also called a Janoel-10). Practicing holding my humidity with that for the next 3 days.

:weee. YES!!!!! Awesomeness. Have you tried to add a sponge to increase the humidity?

Today is day 14 starting the day I put them in so would that actually make it 13? Here's pics of the size of air cells do they look normal?

Here is a great reference article for incubating.

I keep meaning to buy a sponge! Ugh. On my list to do for tomorrow. We've been snowed in since Thursday so just started getting out and about again.

If you have paper towels you can dampen one and add it in there as well. It will help quite a bit. Or you can add a small container with water. I found that the medicine measuring cup on the top of liquid medicine. It has increased my humidity 15% with 1 cap

Sorry at Jessimom

but I candled my 5 eggs on day 7. All are good and seem to be developing!
I candled at day 7 and things were wonky....that's why I'm not touching them again until day 18.

I have a high demand incubator (styrobator) so I have to check frequently the air cell growth which means candling. I tried weighing eggs this round. My data was saying they were good but the air cells were saying they were on day 5 when they should have been more day 10. Once I get the hang of what the best means is I won't have to babysit it as much!

I am still somewhat of a newbie. I've hatched 4 batches of my own eggs, and had very good hatch rates. I checked air cells, but didn't really think they looked right on this last hatch, but couldn't get my humidity under 35%. But,, on this last one, I was testing the age of the eggs set, by setting my oldest. So, I wasn't surprised I had 5 DIS. Good luck with weighing them!! I hope that your setting are all good now!

Awesome on the 6/6. You are definitely doing things right!! Good luck!!

The air cells do look a little small so I would drop humidity a bit and check in a day or two to see if that helped.

Ok, my other incubator has been running between 40 to 45 because there's like 33 eggs in there. They are on day 3, I'll try to run them both around 40 see if that helps.
