Hi folks!
I have the sweetest little EE chick about 1 week old who I'm like 95% sure is a boy. I've named him Sid. I know it's waaaaay too early to know for sure, I wont know until I see those saddle feathers, he crows, etc...but I FEEL like he's a boy, deep down in my chicken-owner instincts.
Just for fun--What do you guys think?
Subtle signs: small chick but very much the alpha, chest bumping, jumping on his sister until she yells, pushing/bugging her 24/7, pulling at her feathers, has to get everything first (even if it's a piece of shaving he will steal it from Amelia), needs all the attention, doesnt have tail pin feathers (just a nub), very evenly spaced short wing feathers, large head, slightly more raised pea comb, stares directly and intensely at people (seems utterly fearless), stands with upright posture. His feet arent necessarily large, and he doesnt have any barring.
He's a big snuggler and loves attention, and is very pretty. Big chipmunk cheeks and smokey gray feathers. Loves being picked up and doesnt peep unless he's cold (because he wants you to hold him!) Honestly there is nothing wrong with this little dude other than he's probably a dude.
Pics: Sid is gray, Amelia is white.
