I'm very happy this week! We own 6 chickens, and 4 of them are one year old, and 2 of them are Easter Eggers that we have raised from chicks since early March. The 2 Easter Egger pullets are 18 weeks old, and one of them started laying this week!
She's layed 3 baby blue eggs this week!
I know that it is very rare for an Easter Egger to lay a blue egg, so I'm extremely happy. Most chickens usually don't start laying 'til 23 weeks or older, so since she's a "mutt" she must have some type of "early layer" breed in her. Either way, thought I'd share that with the folks here on BYC.
Here's is a photo of her from when she was about 11 weeks old.
