... cut off the branches, bring out the big "stick", bundle branches and tie with string (or put in garbage bag but my town will not take that in a plastic bag) and put it all outside.
I now have a pile of branches and a stick, sticking out of the snow bank. It is FUNNY !

My town takes the trees next week so I am lucky. But this is even easier if you have to take it to a dump or out in the woods

Whaa Lahhh. No needles OTHER THEN where the tree was. WAY easier to vacuum up and WAY easier to get out the door without scratching the walls, furniture, door.

AND, Bonus... Cat does not bother you. Mine just looked at me like I was weird.

I have a yucky pair of garden shears and rubber gloves just for this kind of thing

Don't they make bags you can slip over the top and then wind string around to hold it compact?
I use pine branches as mulch in the garden for acid loving plants like azalea and holly.

They do, but that is not good for the environment. Our town has a 'dump' where they chop up yard waste and make mulch for free to people who live there.
Plus the branches poke out on the cheap ones and it is still fat.

You could use the branches in the garden too

I was going to line the Run Walk way with the branches but I want to see if I can get grass in there this Spring.
