East TN: Cocke County Poultry Show May 7, 2011

Hi y'all! What time does the show start tomorrow? I'd like to get there early so I can buy chicks & or chickens.

The building is supposed to open at 6:30am, but sellers that are not showing should start setting up by 7am. Those that are exhibiting will be busy till 8:30 or 9(when judging starts) and then they will slowly move out to setup what they have to sell. If I was looking for good deals I would try to get there by 7:30-8 and hang around talking to folks.

Matt

Ok, Thanks! I'm looking forward to seeing all of the different breeds & hopefully coming home with a variety of new chickens.

as I did not mean nellabean until after all her good ones were gone. Megan got a beautiful baby silkie though from "wegotchickens" and then was given another one by someone after the judging when she expressed interest in showing in the junior division. Here we go I guess....all I ever wanted was eggs

I'm going to have to cull a 4 month old Gold laced Wyan because she has an infected place on her bottom and needs to be separated to keep red coat on her so she can heal. So if anyone wants her in the next couple days let me know.

I'll be looking for a couple more Sussix hens also if anyone has any and will be heading my way or is up towards J.C.

I had a great time today. If anyone needs a POL/Laying Cochin mix, I have 4 girls left. 2 black, 1 blue, 1 splash. They are all beautiful. 1 black pullet even laid an egg for us at the show today. The blue and splash hens are very beautiful. They were hatched out late November or early December, depending on which girl it is.

I also have 3 speckled sussex young cockerels for giveaway. They will go to my rooster eater lady in about a month if nobody needs one between now and then.
