What coloration? I am VERY new to this and don't quite understand what you mean? What color does a male have to be?
It hasn't been a month. It's been 9 years.Sorry it's been a month before this was noticed.
Most chicken colors can occur on both males and females. Easter Eggers can come in many colors, and most of them could be either gender.
But there are a few colors and patterns that only happen for one gender or the other.
Black Breasted Red chickens have males and females colored differently from each other (obvious difference: black breast in males, salmon breast in females.) Those particular arrangements of colors are gender-specific. The pullet in this thread has a variation of that female-specific color pattern.
[Note: the female-only coloring has one exception. A few roosters are "hen feathered," which means they grow feathers the shape and color of a hen's feathers. But roosters with hen feathering are only found in a few chicken breeds, so we can ignore them when sexing Easter Eggers.]
Um, but I checked, and it says.... oh, 2012 is not 2021. Even though it's got all the right digits, some of them are in the wrong order. It hasn't been a month. It's been 9 years.
