Yeah, I love being able to easily tell them apart. I have other breeds too but they all mostly look the same and are hard to tell from each other. My hubby thought it was stupid to order EEs, then he fell in love from day one, probably because they look like pheasant chicks when they are little. I think they might be his favorite breed that I have because of their different personalities and looks. That and its just extra fun to find a blue egg in the box!
He does. Is Hawk just an EE or a cross with something barred? I am curious because I have a couple barred roosters. Which from what I have read will only produce barred offspring, it would be awesome to get some that look like Hawk. Also how old is Hawk, mine was totally black and white until about 16 weeks and now he has cream colored saddle feathers and cream on the edges of his hackle feathers. Turning out to be a handsome boy. You can see a little cream in the picture but he has way more now.
Too bad he is my "Special" rooster. I think he is a little slow in the head.

It took him 2 weeks to figure out how to navigate the roosting bars and I had to build a ramp for him to get up to them at 2' high. He is a sweetheart though and makes me laugh the way he jumps out of the way when I try to pet him. I might have to get another EE rooster to get chicks from?
