I have 11 EE pullets. I started with 12, but lost my favorite one. :( I called her Sweetie. They are roughly 2 weeks old now and little escape artists!! I had to put them in their outside coop/house bc they kept getting out in my house. I don’t have them all named yet. My daughter named one Barbara, and another Coco.

I’m so sad to say that I lost my favorite EE girl Bernadette today. She was fine this morning and even laid a beautiful green egg for me. When I checked on them this afternoon I couldn’t find her so I looked in the coop and she had gone in there and died. I’m suspecting heat stroke :( it got up to 108 today. My top Blue has been an amazing rooster for my girls. 100% fertility rate with all my batches so far! I need to get an updated picture of him, his black tailfeathers have really grown in beautifully!View attachment 1406285

And this little girl... Elizabeth. She’s almost a year old and still no egg! I’m very impatient with her! Lol View attachment 1406286

I have 10 EE chicks under 2 my maths old and about to set 41 more eggs, some including Bernadette’s last. Fingers crossed all hers hatch!
Sorry you lost her:(

Thank you. She was my favorite. But I have some of her eggs in my incubator right now, so I’m hoping her babies will be just like her!
I hope so!! I’m new to raising chickens. Mine are a little over 2 weeks old. I lost my favorite one during the first week. She was solid grey when I got her and was changing colors before I lost her.

I have two new ee babies! :wee

They're SO CUTE!!!! The last ones I got were from a hardware store and were supposed to be a few days old....but I think they were much older because they were already huge. They were light colored ones and are gorgeous but not the typical type of chicks you think of as ee. These ones were mailed day old chickies and have the more common chipmunk markings and oh my goodness the lighter one is the cutest chick I have ever seen!!! (And I'm now up to 25 different types of chicks I've raised from babies!)
