Easter Egger club!

LOL.....lift up the tail and there's a pretty goodsize opening...it kinda looks like a mouth...LOL the first time I saw one on my chicks it looked like it was chewing bubble gum....trust me...its the egg hole

Yes they sure do.....IV got several squatting but only getting one egg a day....I understand now what they mean when they say that their faces go red and their combs just seem to get real big and red almost overnight

My wyandottes have been squatting for about a week. One laid a itsy egg today. In and out of nest boxes for days. Poor little things.
Both my ees have laid double yolks. Is that weird?

Not sure...my very first egg was a whopper and had a double yoke...no more so far....IV gotten a few little Bitty almost round eggs...but they are getting more egg shaped and bigger

The double yolks are a bonus! Not weird at all.

I found that after their first laying phase and then winter egg break...the next spring all the kinks had been worked out and the girls were more regular with single yolks and larger eggs. Bless them. So cute with all their variations when they are young pullets. Like teenage girls with quirky irregular periods. LOL.

LOL! I think that's why I baby them when they start doing the little egg dance. Poor babies. They're so cute and needy the first couple of times.

I have a newbie question... A couple days ago I purchased a new chicken. I have 4 others I have raised from 3 days old. After her quarantine time, what would be the best way to introduce her to the coop with the others? Do I just put her in? Or should I move her cage close to their run for a couple days to get to know each other?

Iv read to put them in a cage inside the coop for a couple of days so they can see her but not bully so easy...then when night falls put her up on a roost but be out there before first light just in case they attack her....you'll have squabbles cause it upsets their pecking order....IV read that its best not to introduce them as a single bird but like three or more if possible
