My EE didn't lay until she was somewhere over 40 weeks old, but was laying size mediums right off the bat.

I've heard of a few EEs who didn't start laying until really late like that.
I dont know if its due.to them being mixes or what but I'd be happy with that since of means they'll continue to lay for a longer time if they start late and lay o.ly a few eggs a.week.
But then I'm not about production. My chickens are.strictly "Pets with benefits"

Sorry for those of you not getting any eggs, or very few. My girls are laying like CRAZY!!! Which surprises me a little, with the crazy cold weather we've had. But no complaints here!!!

Rumples laid her second real egg this morning. Wheee!!!

It is larger than her first (58g. 1st was 44g) and it is a light shade of blue. I was getting worried because we were down to one egg for food and I know that Penny is good for about 4-5 a week. Whew....
Treats for all my girls!! Mama is Happy... Happy... Happy...!!!

Awesome news! I get all happy every time one of my girls lays too.
My Mom thinks I'm a nut. She'll come over for eggs for breakfast or to make a sandwich after work in the afternoon and as I hand her the eggs I'll tell her who they're from. She thinks I'm nuts because I know exactly who lays which eggs. XD
