Easter Egger club!

I hatched them out myself with my brand new incubator. We have about 45 chickens (not counting the chicks who just hatched out) of which 3 are EE hens, and our dominant rooster is an EE as well, so they contributed the most to the genetic stock of this batch. I made a point of getting as many EE eggs in this batch as I could, too, so of 11 chicks, 8 have distinct cheek puffs indicating their EE heritage. (The only other rooster that could give them cheek puffs is our bantam d'uccle Spice, and he doesn't get a lot of action with the big hens.)

At some point, I'd like to get an Ameraucana rooster and cross him with other hens to get first generation EE's and compare the results, but so far I'm pretty pleased with just breeding my EE's together.

Do you have pictures of the3 EE hens and EE rooster? I would love to see them!

Sure thing!

Here's Gryffindor, the rooster.

Owlette.

Mouse on the left, Chipmunk on the right. Unfortunately, we no longer have Chipmunk. She made the mistake of flying into the dog run :(

Eclair.

Owlette again.

Owlette, Mouse, and Eclair dustbathing.

Mouse loves pumpkins.

Hi, I'm new to this thread and chickens. We have 8 EE. I'm super excited but anxious to know how many are pullets and how many are roos. They are about 4 weeks old.

Gryffindor sure is a beauty
He sure is. He's the only rooster we've ever gotten on purpose. He was just such a cutie that we had to rescue him from the panfry bin, even though we knew he was most likely a boy, and as he grew he just got more and more gorgeous. We were all very pleased when he proved to be such a successful rooster!
