I tried to feather sex at about 2 days. and from my experience thus far all the pullets grew out tail feathers first & fastest.
I went by this when choosing these 4, Really hoping for hens, I have 2 more from the December Hatch, They are both developing along the same lines.
I know people say you cant wing feather sex ees. But there were 5 distinctly different wings that look like all the cockerel wing feather sexing images I pull up on my computer.
I just hope it's fairly accurate.
We are trying to have different varieties so we can more easily identify what's cockerel and what's pullet. I think it takes experience not internet searching for that.
I have one more batch of 13 ees in the bator right now.
I know I'll never know with the silkies in there

(and we plan to have silkieXEE later on...Those will surely be a challenge too.

Whelp the EE babies and Rhodebars went to the farm
I did put a 75 watt in bulb in the coop to keep the air temp warmer.
I thought I'd back it down to a 60 in a few days then a 40 to wean them off the little extra heat.
the ee's are going on 6 weeks old and the Rhodebars and little Jethro are older. They should huddle together to stay warm.
No pecking or fighting is good.

I did have to move the extra roos around, I think I am going to try and get my pen separated tomorrow and cut a door, so I can put all my bantys together.
Going to have a EE bantam roo coming online for sale soon. He made some pretty babies, but We've 2 LF roos should be coming to maturity and getting interested in the ladies soon.
Thought I'd remove a problem before it started.
