I tried to feather sex at about 2 days. and from my experience thus far all the pullets grew out tail feathers first & fastest.
I went by this when choosing these 4, Really hoping for hens, I have 2 more from the December Hatch, They are both developing along the same lines.
I know people say you cant wing feather sex ees. But there were 5 distinctly different wings that look like all the cockerel wing feather sexing images I pull up on my computer.
I just hope it's fairly accurate.
We are trying to have different varieties so we can more easily identify what's cockerel and what's pullet. I think it takes experience not internet searching for that.
I have one more batch of 13 ees in the bator right now.
I know I'll never know with the silkies in there
(and we plan to have silkieXEE later on...Those will surely be a challenge too.
