Hey, we are neighbors! That's great! I love finding new chicken people locally. Makes me feel not so crazy around all my non-chicken people friends!!!Here are some fresh out of the incubator . Still refining the chick color . Girls on the left boys on the right . Selecting for dark females and light males . Double barred males have a larger irregular white head spot . Females can only be single barred and have a small head spot or none . Two barring genes make the males lighter . There is some wheaten Ameraucana in the mix causing the light females . Wheaten (yellow) chicks are a poor background for auto sexing . The idea is to sell sexed chicks locally . I raise the males for meat . No baby culling here . 4 females 3 males . 1 in each group are too light for breeders . Wheaten influence . You are not too far away . So Hi neighbor .
