Easter Egger club!

I got Yzma at like 38 weeks old from my daughter. I am trying to get a pic of her for u but she is 7 mo prego and two boys also (3 & 1) so it might take her a sec.

No problem. When/if you can. I see the EEs in the feed store bins in so many colors you're afraid to pick one in case it grows into a different color from what you thought it would turn out. I like Yzma's color and wondered if she was a multi-color chick or a dark chick or a light spotted chick. Sometimes their color as chicks turns out totally different as adults.

I love having breeds 2x2 like Noah's Ark. For me it sometimes didn't work when I would lose one and then had one oddball breed in my small flock. So many have advised to have at least 2 of each breed because they seem to hang out together but my flock is too small to do it plus we're zoned for only 5 hens, no roos. I like having different breeds because they all seem to lay at different times of the year so that we always have at least 1 or 2 hens laying in different months.

Hi! I have 2 Easter Eggers and another hen who lays blue eggs too and looks similar to the other too. She is a little darker than them though.

I use this same system (the nipple waterers) and they are fantstic. We use a 3 gal bucket outside now that they are adults, but while in the plastic bin "brooder" we used the nipples on water bottles. Water stays clean, and you can hang it, so there is more floor space.

How do you hang? Do you have a picture?

Your ducks are a beautiful tan - what breed are they? Are they good egg layers and do you have them sharing a coop/run with your chickens? I decided against having ducks because almost every duck breed loves water and my yard is too small to set up a pool or pond - besides my dumb chickens would rather drink dirty water (like pond water or dirty container pot water) instead of the clean nipple valve waterers I have set up for them. After a rain we have to go around the yard getting rid of container pot water.
