My three are 19 weeks and I can't wait to see what their eggs look like!! I am hoping for green as I have three True Blues so I won't need blue eggs.

Crazy Daisy has to be the funniest chicken name I've heard!! And your other one is really pretty. I would so love a white or a blue Easter Egger.

Fester in early molt and he is almost bare butted. Looks so strange without his plumage to balance him out visually.

Aww! He matches my poor, buttless Nero! Heeheehee.

Nothing more depressing than having a naked butted rooster. Miss his tail! Will probably need to nab him off the roost to coat his tail stump before the Sussex see it. Now to get hubby talked into grabbing him. Fester likes to roost in the very back out of my reach, lil stinker.

Nero kicked a coyote in the face and lost half his tail in the process. But haven't seen the coyote since. He practiced his ninja moves on a stray dog yesterday, too. It ran off with its tail between its legs!

...I should really get on installing that fence...

Update on my Babes of Summer.

First, the Easter Eggers...

Last week

And I think I may know why I have such a hard time telling these two apart...

Four weeks

They're twins! Or very nearly so! And no, I don't think they came from the same egg!

They may have shared similar parentage though.

Many white-ish EE's I've seen here seem to lay blue eggs. I'm hoping she does too.

And finally my very dark Cuckoo Marans @ three weeks...

I'm beginning to wonder if he even is going to be a Cuckoo! The white just keeps getting thinner and thinner.

Is this normal for Cuckoos?
