Easter Egger club!

So, out of curiosity - and to see if I'm reading things right - will crossing my Faverolles too with my blue EE make an olive egger?
Olive eggers are created from mixing a dark brown layer (usually a maran or sometimes a welsummer) to a TRUE BLUE layer. Most EEs do not have truly blue eggs. You typically need an ameruacana.

When you cross a RSL with an EE rooster the babies come out very beautiful.
Thats good to know, do you have pictures of any of the pretty babies? I have 4 RSL hens and one EE cockerel who hasn't gone through puberty and is a week younger than the RSLs. I also have two EE pullets, an Ameraucana pullet and a White Chantecler pullet. It would be great to see pictures of the babies out of RSL/EE roo

I'll have to post one later.

Just wanted to say I've loved looking through your easter egger photos! Such beauties.
I've never heard of easter eggers over here in the UK. I wish they were more popular, would definitely have to add some to my flock (maybe it's a good idea there isnt any around here LOL!)

My girls are 3 weeks old now, and while they have PLENTY of room in the (extra large) dog crate, they are acting like they are itchin' to get out of there! I think my DH is more anxious to get them outside than I am lol. I think he's just tired of the bedding mess being scratched and kicked out onto the floor. My EE's are a little skidish, and protest when I pick them up to love on them. And when I put them back in the crate, the others come running over to check to see if they're ok lol My BR on the other hand comes right over and jumps into my hand.
One of my EE's, has beautiful copper colored feathers coming in around her neck and breast. I have named her pum'kin.

The girls in the big dog crate (this was taken a week ago, but they still have LOTS of room!)

This is pum'kin

A better shot of Pum'kins "copper" color coming in

This is Rizo
