Easter Egger club!

Rizo is adorable (all are cute actually) - looks like he has flight goggles. unfortunately, that will probably fade away as it gets older

Rizo better not be a he!!! Just when I was finally relaxing and settling in with the thought that they are all girls, now you got me scared again...rizo is the one I was worried about too :(

Here are some crele project chicks.Crele is auto sexing when bred right. This was a crele over silver hens.A sex linked cross.Silver is cockerel brown pullet.First step in my project. Many of you have the makings for sex linked chicks.A red rooster over silver hens will give you chicks you can sex at hatch.I see many posts about boy or girl.Make sex links and know at hatch.Thought I would share the info.

What color would I get breeding a barred w/ blue tail feathers roo with a black/blue hen? Both are EEs with big fluffy beards.
Well barred rock and other breeds are black first plus the barring gene.A rooster with 2 barring genes will produce all bared chicks.Blue will follow the usual ratio.Your rooster has 1 copy if he has any solid colored feathers. In this case 50% of his chicks in both sexes will be barred. The barred males in this case would only have 1 copy since the hens you are using are not barred.Hens can only carry 1 copy.

One of my favorite things about EEs is how different they all look when they grow up! They all look like fluffy chipmunks at first and within a couple months, so different. My two look like different breeds. Very neat.

I've got 4 - maybe 5 easter eggers. I just got Chevy (sole survivor from a 4H flock that got attacked by coons) and she lays white eggs. Coloring looks similar to my other EE, but comb sure isn't typical.

Chevy 9 month old EE? That's what the 4H kids were told by the breeder, but she lays white eggs instead of green. Could she be a brown leghorn?

Chevy's back - 1 month after coon attack
