Easter Egger club!

Hello every one. My birthday and this Sunday and my husband bought me 2 EE'S and 1 barred rock. My barred rock has a name but I need help with names for the EE's ant suggestions?

Here is our smallest EE (rumpless), named Goldie...she and Fred, our White Leghorn, are our smallest ladies.

Here is our largest EE (and largest chicken in general), Olive.

I tried to get a pic of Goldie, Olive and our other EE Shed side-by-side...but they are camera shy.

You can use the fence support beam as reference for Goldie & Olive's size difference (they are basically the same distance away from the fence in these pics).

We are their second owners, so we're not entirely sure how old they are. Our guess is about 12wks or so...but I believe they are all the same age.

For those of you who are discovering your pullets are Roos......we're the chicks you bought sexed or straight run? Just curious.

I'm getting 3 EE pullets and really don't want a roo. Two would be even worse. I understand the percentage of accuracy for sexing chicks is around 90%.

When i bought mine off a hatchery I get them sexed, but every time i end up with 2 roos. I just bought 5 off a hatchery and 2 of them ended up being roos and I got them sexed. Didn't work out to well on that part. Other times, I got some from the feed store and I got some roos, but they were straight run. You just have to cross your fingers I guess.

I ended up getting 4 chicks, 1 was an EE, 2 BAs, and 1 cuckoo marans. They were all sexed to be female, and came from an in state hatchery and then I purchased them through the local chicken store. they give an 85% chance on their guarantee paper- but I really think if that was their true rate they wouldnt be doing very good business. Only time will tell, but my EE was the smallest of the bunch, continues to be- and doesnt have much of a comb developing so Im really hopeful as she is by far my favorite. They are around 3.5/4 weeks now.
