He appears to be blue and the head spot = barring . So dad is the BR and mom must have had blue .

Wow! Does the spot on its head indicate a male (sex linked?) Or not, because barred rock hens also have spots from what I remember...

If the rooster is barred, he can pass the barring gene to all his chicks, both male and female. Barred hens can only pass their barring gene to their male chicks.

Hello! My wife insisted I order a few EE from the hatchery when we expanded our flock. I ordered 3, got 4. These are our first EE. I was wondering if we may have a rooster. Do EE Roos develop wattles early? We have a BA roo at 3 1/2 weeks his wattles are bright red and really starting to show. The 4 EE have no wattles showing.
