Easter Egger club!

Hey I have this easter egger cockerel that I've been growing out. From the beginning I thought easter egger but I'm wondering if he could be a blue wheaten cockerel now that he is growing out. I'm no expert and have no clue. Maybe you could help me out?

He is about 11 weeks now. Thanks

Where did you get him? And what did he look like as a chick?

I got hatching eggs from ebay. The people said they were pure but they weren't. Adleast some of them. I hatched out ones from different parents. I wrote the breeder upset that they were not pure since that's what they advertised as. They finally wrote me back saying they were sorry and they were really embarrassed. They said some of the chicks could be pure and some were easter eggers. They said some of the parents were not pure but that they had been unaware. So I hatched 3 chicks from them my white is for sure an easter egger. The 2 blues I'm not sure because they look nothing like my other easter eggers. I can't remember exactly what they looked like but I think as chicks they were solid blue. I'll see if I can find an old pic..

If he was blue at hatch, then he is definitely NOT wheaten. And he's got way too much red to be a Blue with leakage. That puts him squarely in the Easter Egger camp.
The problem a lot of people don't understand is that even if both parent birds are the same breed, if they are different varieties, they produce birds that are no longer the 'breed'.
It's not just about lineage. Both parents must be the same breed and have the same pattern genes, in order for a bird to be 'pure'.

Here are the 2 right after hatch.

Here they are again. I'm not sure how old but it was awhile ago. Not the best pics unfortunately. These are all I could find. They were both pretty skittish as chicks. Much friendlier now though.
