Easter Egger club!

What I do for my hens is cut up leafy greens into small bits -- I have a small Silkie with a much smaller beak than our Breda and Dominique hens so cutting up tiny pieces of leafy greens, cucumber, etc makes it easier for her to nibble and eat produce. Even raisins or blueberries she can't swallow whole and needs to nibble them from my fingers in teeny nibbles. Because of her petite size I just cut up all produce now for all the hens and that way I'm certain the Silkie has her fill too.
Make sure any dried fruit is unsulphured. I remember that from my parrot care book -- birds don't tolerate sulphur like we do.

Just curious if sulphur is in ORGANIC raisins which is the only kind of fruits, produce, or packaged goods we give our hens? I also soak raisins in bottled water (I know I'm picky haha!) so the raisins are soft enough for the little Silkie's beak.

You should be OK with organic dried fruit. The organic guidelines prohibit preservatives like sulphur dioxide.

They grow so fast and beautifully...
