Easter Egger first egg??

Hello everyone! Quick question..I believe one of my easter eggers laid their first egg the weekend before the 4th. We currently have 5 laying chickens that are very established but when my in laws came over to gather eggs and close the coop for the night they found a small dk brown egg in the run. Mind you my chickens are free range but when 4 of my other 5 started laying last year they all laid their first egg in the run but within a day or 2 they were laying in the boxes and have been going strong since. However, my Easter Egger has not laid another egg. I find this very strange. We have about 2 acres and my property is fenced so we have searched the entire yard in bushes, etc and have found nothing. Is it normal for them to lay an egg and then just not? I have never had this issue. The Easter Egger I'm pretty sure that laid had a bright red comb and waddles. The other 2 Easter Eggers are not quite there yet. All are 22-23weeks. Thanks!

That's pretty normal. When a pullet starts to lay, they have to figure everything out. They might lay tiny eggs, eggs with no shells, eggs with no yolk, eggs with more than one yolk, lay every day or skip a few days. Over time she'll get the hang of it.

It's possible she's hiding a nest, even though you already looked. Sometimes they make nests in places where you least expect it. lol

When my chickens started laying they would lay once and then stop for about a week and then continue on. They are kind of weird that way...
