Easter egger is weak with a large crop (soft) like a water balloon

I'm so sorry.
My finances don't run to veterinary treatment for my chickens at all, so I can sympathise with you being in that situation and having to draw the line. When they have lost a lot of body condition like that and have become emaciated, they are sometimes not strong enough to make it through surgery anyway and vets usually have to use anaesthetic, which further adds to the risk, so you could have paid all that money and not gained anything.
The one I did surgery on recovered amazingly well and was great for several months but then she went back to eating straw and impacted herself again and I didn't catch her soon enough the second time so she was too weak to recover. Even if she had, there are only so many times you can cut open a chicken and empty them out and it isn't possible to keep them in a happy environment where they don't have access to fibrous material... It would certainly have been no life for her living in solitary confinement in a bare cage. She was such a sweetheart though, I do miss my little Vippy. :(

i took her to the avian vet, she did have a blocked crop, but unless I was willing to pay for radiographic studies, and an extended vet stay, ($400.00) they couldn't say why she was blocked. I thought it was more humane to end her suffering, so I had her euthanised. She had apparently been ill for some time, as she was thin for her size, which I hadn't realized because the contents of her crop were heavy. Thank you for all your patience, and advice, and your kindness.
Oh, that’s too bad, so sorry.
