For this bird. I was compensating for age. But breeds develop differently. Birds within a breed, too.

I’ll definitely be holding onto this one for a bit until I’m 100% and will continue to post updates. I went back to the pics I took the day I brought them home and if I go by that, they’d be 8 weeks this week. So we’ll see what happens! So far it’s comb hasn’t really gotten any more red than the others that definitely have a female pattern, but my instincts are really saying male here for whatever reason. I haven’t been able to get a good pic, but this ones tail feathers are kind of oddly narrow compared to the others too. It’s also taken the longest to feather out, which I know in some other breeds can be a somewhat male trait as well. But time will tell I guess! I’m not in a rush to rehome until i hear crowing. I’m still holding onto a slight shred of hope that it’s a female though because I really like the markings.
