Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Thanks

She is as sweet as she is beautiful. She looked like a cockerel with the three rows and red comb from the time I got her. Comb stayed the same size and shade of red, so I kept hoping. She is close to laying now, and I can't wait to see what color her eggs are. I'm still holding on to a black/white that has the same type comb and body
posture on the off chance that I may have another pullet. B/W is about 12 weeks now.
Do you have a picture of the B/W? Maybe we can ease your worries!

To the EE breeders out there ....which of these 2 ee roos is more likely to be carrying the blue egg gene? What color egglayers can I expect chicks to be if I breed these EEs to Americaunas? Mostly blue eggs?Or will it be variable?(supposed to be getting black blue and splash americaunas from a breeder) Thanks for any info you can provide!

Both carry the gene. You can expect blue or green eggs from their daughters if bred to other EE girls. Green & brown if bred to a brown layer.

Wow.  I can see why you are waiting for confirmation.  Not sure what to say about her/him.  :D   This one looks a little more boyish than your pullet, but I'd wait a bit too. :fl   Keep us posted.

The splotchiness of the colors, black/white pattern, comb, posture all point to cockerel :/ If so, he will be going to my dad since he is looking for an EE rooster.

Do you have a side view of the comb? This pic is a bit blurry and its hard to tell what the comb looks like in this pic. That comb is bright red though from the looks of it.

Haven't seen any girl coloured like that. Going with cockerel

The comb is a single row pea comb that is pretty bright, but hasn't gotten larger for about a month. I checked saddle feathers earlier, and there are some pointy ones starting to come on. Looks like my dad will be getting his EE cockerel this weekend to go ith the pretty little hen he has. :)
