Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Either that or wait to see if any of them lifts a leg on a tree. <sigh>

The first crows sound truly terrible! It takes them a bit to get the hang of it! There are actually some videos on youtube of young roos trying to crow. You could check those out and compare to the sounds yours are making.

Cockerels learning to crow sound kinda silly, however the pullets can make some goofy growly noises too. Maybe try looking at some videos on youtube? Here is a funny one I found (and right in line with "A roo will crow long before a hen lays an egg"):

ETA: Gayleyy beat me to it while I was searching youtube!

You know they say great minds think alike! LOL

Thank you, both. My white Roo was trying today and it was pitiful. The others are making some noises, but nothing like that youtube video! That was cute. Mine squawk. Again, thanks!

I'm hoping that it's okay that I post this here. I'm not entirely sure what breed of bird I have. I was told Easter Egger by the seller, but since I have found out my supposed Dominiques are in fact Barred Rocks. Needless to say, I'm not confident that my EE's are what they are supposed to be. So...if you have a moment, and know the breed/sex (I have a feeling that my EE's are all cockerels), please help me out. They are 9 weeks old. I'm looking to downsize right away. I can't keep Roos. Thanks in advance. #1 #2-I'm confused by this guy. Not an EE, is he? #3 #4-This bird is beautiful. Mostly black with green streaking through the body and tail. He? has one white feather on the left side. I wish I'd gotten a better pic of the comb. Camera shy... #5-I know this one isn't an Egger. I'm also confused by this one. I'm pretty sure it's a Roo. He doesn't have the same comb as the other Barred Rocks though and he doesn't have wattles. Any direction would be appreciated. And here's a pic of one of the other Barred Roo for comparison. Did I just get a mixed breed?
So your first one looks like a blue ameraucana or ee. Cockerel. The white one could be a white rock or leghorn dunno until it grows a bit more. But it is also a cockerel. The black one could be just about anything but might be a pullet. The barred could be your dominique. Another complicating factor is that a poorly bred dominique and a poorly bred barred rock can be really similar looking. Now can someone tell my 3 week old splash laced wyandotte roo he is NOT a bad a**, and to quit trying to pick a fight with everyone else in the brooder??

Thanks for guessing, I figured it was too early. Her colors are definitely not too unique from what I can see so far, however the personality in this one is HUGE!! I'll post when she is a bit older :) I can say green legs and a cute tail so far!
