Yes. One of those.

Seriously though, 3 weeks is early to tell for sure, but so far no obvious cockerel signs. Well, except for maybe those boyishly thick legs. Not to worry, one of mine was like that and lays eggs now. Post again at 4 weeks and try to include a close up of the comb.

Thanks! So far the comb is single and beak colored. "She" is definitely the boss of the other 3!

Hello all! I'm new to this thread, I'm usually in the northern Cali thread since that's where I'm from. I got 5 Easter Eggers and 2 Australorps, 1 RIR and 1 Barred Plymouth Rock. I believe that 1 if not 2 or 3 of the EE's are roos, but I need help. I'm at work and can't post pics, but will try and do that this evening. The chicks are 5 weeks old and have been brooded under an Ecoglow and have nicely feathered out so you may be able to help me easier that way. Thanks to everyone and I subscribed to this thread.

Looks like a pea comb with a thin ridge down the center, generally a female feature. The cockerels usually have a thicker ridge, or 3 ridges close together. The gold coming in on the breast is also a female feature. That being said, she is still to young to be sure. They can change a lot in the next few weeks. If she is a cockerel, you will probably see the ridge of the comb getting thicker, perhaps turning pink, patchy red areas on the wings, and black coming in on the breast.

If I was forced to guess, I think it's a pullet, but don't hold me to it!

At least not for another week or two!

this is culprit #1 Not sure which one. Top one closest to the EcoGlow could be a male with that slow feathering, but the comb looks small for 5 weeks. Center looks like a pullet. Blurry one in corner seems to have a big comb...

this is culprit #2 The one on the feeder and the other near the waterer are cockerel suspects due to slow feathering. The combs are still pretty small and pale (they look younger then 5 weeks). They also look more boldly colored, and it seems the cockerels are always the pretty ones. However, to my eye, there are no definite signs, and they just might be pullets. Are they sexed hatchery chicks?

So far this is what I have on my phone here at work. Any input would be much appreciated. Thank you
