Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Can anyone tell if my EE Henrietta is actually a Henry?? I was greeted with 3-4 distinctive yet juvenile cock-a-doodle-doos today ... not prepared for a roo in my not-chicken-friendly township :( I only have 4 birds. This one has always been head & shoulders above the others.

I love the grey patterns. I sure hope one of my girls turns out like that. They are 2 1/2 weeks now. Named from this site. My big one is Moose, and the little one is hoot for her owl like face. I can't wait to see what they will look like. Genetics are amazing!

This is pretty common cockerel coloring, but you won't know for sure until you see dark red splotches on the shoulders. How old is he?

I'm looking at the pink comb with fuzzies still showing in the neck and guessing cockerel, 4-5 weeks. A shot of the back with light shining on the chick rather than from behind may reveal the tell-tale red emerging. Oh, and the tail tips with all of them being so pointed and arcing downward... Yeah, probably male.

Henri or Henrietta? Not sure of exact age, maybe 5 weeks? I was thinking pullet based on the coloring, but I do see some brighter reddish-orange patches in the wings and chest.

She looks a good bit like my Hazel did at that age. 90% sure that's a pullet but wait until she's done feathering to be sure.

Ok so one of these ee's laid this egg sometime last night both are 18 weeks old they both do the squat thing with the hand hovering over her, although the bearded one has been doing that longer. This is our very first egg. I am almost giddy lol. How crazy to be so happy for an egg!
