This comb has been driving me crazy! It's a wonky single row of peas. I'm pretty good at picking three rows out early, but this one has been bothering me. Can a cockerel have a single row pea comb? No red splashes, and no pointy saddle feathers?

An EE cockerel can have a single row pea comb as EE's have unknown heritage and may have a single combed breed somewhere. Trust me, give him a few more weeks and that comb will really start to get big and red. If your bird is not a cockerel I will be very surprised. Pointed hackle and saddle feathers develop from 12-15 weeks, though as a previous poster demonstrated you may start to see evidence of them starting to come in earlier than this. Red splotches can start as early as 4 weeks or can wait until 16 weeks to show themselves, it all depends on the bird.
